Today was the official opening of the OIC Youth Scientific Congress, which gathered 100 young scientists from 20 countries in the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan!
The Congress started with a Panel Discussion "Support of young scientists in OIC countries" and a Plenary Session, during which a Memorandum of Understanding between Kazan Federal University and the Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum was signed.
At the Plenary Session of the OIC Youth Scientific Congress, welcoming speeches were made by:
- Dr. Dmitrii Tayurskii, First Vice Rector – Vice Rector for research of Kazan Federal University
- Ms Leyla Fazleeva - Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan
- Mr Timur Suleymanov - Minister of Youth Affairs of the Republic of Tatarstan
- Mr Yunus Sönmez, Director-General of the ICYF Cabinet
- Dr Hayat Sindi (Saudi Arabia), first woman with PhD in biotechnology in the Arab world, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador
- Dr Kenan Bagci - Scientific Adviser at SESRIC
- Dr Nikita Marchenkov - Chairperson of the Coordinating Council for Youth Affairs in the Scientific and the Educational Spheres of the Council under the President of the Russian Federation for Science and Education
- Ms Elmira Khabibullina - Head of Higher School of International Relations and Oriental Studies of Institute of International Relations, KFU
- Dr Timirkhan Alishev, Vice-rector for International Affairs of Kazan Federal University
As part of further work programme, young scientists will present their scientific researches in such fields as urban studies, modern technologies in education, petroleum engineering technologies, current research in medicine.
